You can play a role in avoiding infection by cleaning your body well before surgery. Your body will be cleaned with antiseptic before surgery but the antiseptic will work better if your skin is clean. Skin isn't sterile but if we arrive as clean as possible we can lower our chances of infection.

Every surgeon will instruct their patient to wash their entire body well with antibacterial soap and or CHG (Chlorhexidine Gluconate solution). We've made it easy and bundled them together.

  • Dial Antibacterial Soap
  • 3 Chlorhexidine Surgical Scrub Brushes/Sponges

How To Use:

Always follow your surgeons instructions. Beginning the evening before surgery, use Dial Antibacterial soap to wash and scrub down your entire body, paying particular attention to the navel, groin, and armpits. Let the lathered soap sit on your body for a full 3 minutes before rinsing off. Open the Chlorhexidine package and use the nail pick to clean under your finger and toe nails. Scrub your hands and feet for 3 minutes, paying attention to nails, cuticles, interdigital spaces, etc. Scrub pads may also be used on your body from the neck down. Wash hair with normal shampoo. Rinse everything well.

Do this again the day of surgery.

Continue to use Dial Antibacterial soap post operatively until your incisions have closed.
